Research Clusters

The Centre's research is organized into three interconnected clusters. Each cluster is led by a convenor, brings together Centre members and external collaborators, and hosts its own projects, events, and publications. The clusters build directly on the Centre's founding research tracks — Critical Migration Studies and Comparative Cultures of Care (2022–25) — while opening new directions for the Centre's second phase.

Environmental Cultural Studies

Culture, ecology, and multispecies worlds.

New Social Justice Studies

Migration, minorities, care, and cultural citizenship.

Sustainable Arts and Humanities

Arts, institutions, and the futures of humanities scholarship.

Researchers and research students interested in affiliating with a cluster, or in proposing a collaborative project, are invited to contact the relevant convenor or the Centre office at irccs@eduhk.hk
